J. J. Audubon's Prospectus for Birds of America,
1832, (after)Neil & Co., Old Fishmarket, Edinburgh.

This version of Audubon's Prospectus for Birds of America is one of the later versions,
included after completion of the first 100 plates in Birds of America. It is found in some
copies of Volume I of Ornithological Biography. This is a version of State 'E', according
to Fries. This particular copy is from the 1832 Carey & Hart, Philadephia edition of
Volume I, Ornithological Biography (and, except for typesetting, is the same as that
published by Neil & Co., Edinburgh, as it appears in Ornithological Biography,
Black, Edinburgh, 1831.)
